About Painted Co
Painted Co is a small, new studio making custom pet portraits painted from your photo. We just launched. We don't have thousands of reviews yet — we'd rather earn them honestly than fake them.
Why we built this
If you've ever shopped for a pet portrait, you've seen the two ends of the market: cheap mass-produced prints with bad cropping, or four-figure oil commissions with two-month waitlists. There wasn't much in the middle — and there especially wasn't anywhere that let you see the portrait before paying.

How it works
- Upload a photo. Any clear shot — phone photos work great. We generate a preview in your chosen style in about 30 seconds. No card, no signup, no commitment.
- Refine if you want. Try a different style, request changes, swap photos. Unlimited free re-runs while you're on the preview page.
- Order when it's right. Pick canvas, framed, mug, poster, or card. A real person on our side reviews every order before it prints — eye-light, edges, color balance.
- Ships in 5–7 days. From US-based fulfillment, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If it's wrong, we make it right. No questions.
The honest version of how it's made
Some pet portrait studios claim every piece is "hand-painted by our artists." For most of them, that's not true — and at the volume and price they sell at, it can't be.
Here's our actual pipeline: your photo is rendered digitally, in your chosen style. A human on our team then reviews the result — color, edges, the eyes — and fixes anything before it goes to print. We call it painted from your photo, refined by a human. We don't pretend a person sat at an easel for six hours. We do guarantee that no glitched or distorted portrait ever leaves our queue, and we'll re-run any order until it's right.
If a fully hand-painted oil is what you're after, we understand — there are excellent commission studios for that. They take 6–12 weeks and start at $400. We're a different product for a different moment.
What we care about
- The eyes. A portrait that gets the eyes wrong isn't a portrait. We adjust eye-light by hand on every order.
- Your privacy. EXIF data is stripped on upload. Your photo is used only for your order. We don't train models on customer photos.
- Saying no. If a photo won't paint well, we tell you what to reshoot — we don't take your money and hope.
- Making it right. Free re-runs before print, 30-day money-back after. You keep the print if you return it.
